d10 titania
(Shakespearean Literature)
The fairy queen of a Midsummer Night’s Dream, symbolising beauty, enchantment, and the natural world.
Built in Hobart and launched in 1947, Titania quickly established herself as a competitive member of the Derwent Class. Contemporary reports in 1949 described her as “the most consistent prize-getter in the Derwent class” after taking her third win of that season.
Titania was particularly successful on the racecourse through the late 1960s and early 1970s, continuing a racing history that has now stretched across generations. After many years sailing on the Derwent, she eventually found a home at Kettering, where she has been based for several years.
Today, Titania is undergoing restoration work by her current owner, with plans to return her to the water in late 2026. More than 75 years after her launch, D10 is being prepared for another chapter in her long history with the Derwent Class.
