(Origin Uncertain)

Built in 1936, Pim is one of the older boats in the Derwent Class fleet. By the late 1950s she was sailing on the Tamar, with records placing her at the Tamar Yacht Club in Launceston. In the early 1960s she was racing out of Beauty Point with Peter Bridley and his crew, becoming part of the sailing scene around Port Dalrymple.

After an extended period sailing on the Tamar, including racing as far afield as the Mersey, Pim eventually made her way back to Hobart. During her time away, her D9 sail number had been reassigned to Sabrina, another Derwent. By the time Pim returned, Sabrina had left the state, and D9 was reassigned to Pim.

More than 60 years after her time on the Tamar, Pim is still sailing and racing with the fleet — nearly 90 years after she was built.
