d14 salamis
(Ancient Greek History)
A historic Greek island renowned for its maritime heritage and its role in one of antiquity’s most famous naval battles.
Built in 1946, Salamis has been sailing with the Kettering fleet for many years and remains an active member of the Derwent Class fleet.
She has competed regularly in Derwent Class racing, including the Derwent Class Regatta and Worlds, as well as numerous Australian Wooden Boat Festivals over the years.
Nearly 80 years after she was built, D14 remains very much part of the Derwent Class fleet. She is currently out of the water at Cygnet Wooden Boats, undergoing restorative work before returning to sailing.
